The phthalimide group has better hydrolysis and saponification resistance than the acid group. Epoxy resin has good wet adhesion and saponification resistance. Epoxy resin primer shows greater saponification resistance than alkyd primer. Epoxy-amine and epoxy/phenolic primers have good corrosion resistance, but epoxy/phenolic primers require high-temperature curing.
